Who we are
Our Mission
Pax Africa’s mission is to provide quality technical assistance to African governments, multilaterals and international partners in support of the development and implementation of Africa’s peace, security and development agenda.
In line with the broad notion of human security underpinning the continent’s vision of growth and renewal, Pax Africa seeks to engage with and enhance the capacity of all stakeholders, including the African Union, NEPAD, the Regional Economic Communities (RECs), Member States and civil society, to contribute to a peaceful and prosperous continent.
Pax Africa brings to the African peace and security arena the wealth of expertise and capacity it developed during its many years of providing support to governments and multilaterals in Africa and beyond.
Methodology
To achieve our mission objective, Pax Africa will provide expertise that helps to generate political consensus and common African positions; facilitate the development of policies and operational guidelines, including standards, benchmarks and indicators to measure performance; advise on the establishment of appropriate institutional frameworks; coordinate activities between various actors; and build the capacity of key actors to effectively implement multi-year processes and program activities that deal with various aspects of the agenda which have emerged at the continental, regional, and national levels.

Approach
Pax Africa’s approach is two-pronged. Firstly, we engage with policy makers and other stakeholders in support of policy development and implementation. This involves research, consultations, briefings, advocacy and consensus-building activities.
Secondly, we engage with civil society actors, international partners and others in outreach activities designed to increase awareness of Africa’s peace and security agenda (APSA), enhance stakeholder participation in the implementation of the APSA and ensure that international support is aligned to Africa’s vision and needs.
